HYPERCOMIC (CEO: Philip Bae) and SuperNormal (CEO: Andrew Choi) announced on April 13th that they have signed a partnership to jointly develop large-scale IPs for the development and popularization of the Web 3.0 ecosystem.
SuperNormal is a global high-end art-oriented NFT brand that has accumulated more than 100 billion won in cumulative, aggregate trading volume at OpenSea, the world's largest NFT marketplace, and has maintained its No. 1 position among domestic projects since its launch. The goal is to move Web 3's high-end art images and achievements to traditional industries and the Web2 market.
The 'original IP' of the original video of the webtoon/web novel is a webtoon/web novel. HYPERCOMIC is the project to present the "IP 3.0" vision and implement the original IP launch pad and web 3.0 Webtoon platform such that fandom can participate in the IP business that produces and distributes videos based on webtoons/web novels and original web novels. M Story Hub, Red Ice, Ultra Media, Content Lab Blue, and G&G Productions, the main participants of HYPERCOMIC, have trained a number of webtoon/web novels that have won first place in Korea, the United States, and Japan.
Through this partnership, fans of webtoons/web novels will be given new NFTs and experiences interpreted as high-end art, including global and domestic top illustrators with SuperNormal. It will also jointly develop large-scale Intellectual Properties which can lead to the popularization of Web3 by utilizing the capabilities of producing and training IPs held by participating companies.
Andrew Choi, CEO of Supernormal, said, "This partnership marks a significant milestone because it will help popularize the Web 3.0 industry through joint IP development while allowing webtoons/web novel fandom around the world to experience high-end NFTs."
Philip Bae, CEO of HYPERCOMIC, said, "I have felt that it is necessary to develop large-scale IP for the popularization of Web 3.0," adding, "We want to develop IP together with the capabilities of Hypercomic and participating companies and make it grow well into web novels, webtoons, games, and dramas."
